Description

As an OCVT alum (VT '14) and back in Virginia this October, I'm excited to get out to one of my favorite areas to explore and share this trip together with you. This is NOT a backpacking trip and doesn't require extensive previous experience to enjoy. The plan is to arrive Friday evening, base camp at Spruce Knob Lake Campground (first come first served), dayhike to the summit of Spruce Knob on Saturday, and return on Sunday. There are a few different routes to the summit that we can take which we'll assess, but the goal would be to hike about 10 mi for the day, allowing margin for people with varying hiking speeds and to explore without feeling rushed.

Please don't come on this trip if you're experiencing COVID symptoms or if you think you may have recently come into contact with someone with the virus. We will be following COVID guidelines and maintaining social distancing throughout the trip.

For those signed up, stay tuned for more details... will be in touch as we get closer to the trip. I will not be departing from and returning to Blacksburg and will be meeting others on the trip en route or at the campground. Feel free to let me know if you have any questions or concerns related to COVID precautions or otherwise about the trip.
