Description

I have no idea what the condition of the trail is, but it has been long enough that we should go back out and clear anything we find.

Possible activities include clearing tress that have fallen into the trail, cutting back brush and vines, clearing out water bars, and repainting blazes.

Because of the pandemic we have to meet at the trailhead, work in small groups(four people or fewer), and wear masks when working in close proximity of one another.

All trail work related tools and PPE (gloves, safety glasses, helmets) will be provided but you will need to bring your own mask.

The Appalachian Trail Conservancy also requires that you watch the following video and submit the Acknowledgement at the bottom of the video.
https://appalachiantrail.org/get-involved/volunteer/safety/covid-19/

I put 2:30 as the end time, but it really depends on how much work there is to do. If you need to leave early that's fine.

Location

We will meet at the Peters Mountain Wilderness Trailhead. GPS coordinates: 37.4186, -80.6046
Its about a 35 minute drive from Blacksburg.

Just as a note, this trail does not really offer any views so you should not expect that.

Meeting Location

You must be attending this trip to view this information.

Trip Difficulty

5.00 Miles - Strenuous

Trail work is a choose your own difficulty adventure. We take a lot of turns, but it is still a form of manual labor.

What You Should Bring

Please bring study shoes or boots, water(1-2 liters), food, face-mask, and a positive attitude.

Also please watch the video and sign the acknowledgment.
